Test your color discrimination
I was disappointed to do so badly on this test of color discrimination: I got 85 (lower is better). Can you beat me?

Orange Julius recipe
Here's a recipe to make your own Orange Julius at home. 1/4 cup sugar on top of the OJ may be too rich for your palate, but we should try it for Zoe!
The image shows what Orange Julius cups looked like when I was a kid. From: grickily's Flickr stream.

Jack Kilby quote [see next blog entry]
"What we didn't realize then was that the integrated circuit would reduce the cost of electronic functions by a factor of a million to one. Nothing had ever done that for anything before."

Microchip turns 50 today!
The microchip that drives all our computers was invented 50 years ago today. This is a picture of the very first one, constructed by a guy named Jack Kilby working at Texas Instruments. He also invented the hand-held calculator.

Super Mario Rescues The Princess
A new Super Mario cartoon...brought to you by Burger King! It was made by Seth MacFarlane, who animates 'Family Guy'. There will be new episodes in this series every week, but they aren't all about Super Mario. The line between entertainment and advertising blurs again... [I wonder if I can get Burger King to pay me for those two links I just made to them....I wanna cash in too!]

Bridge Construction
I'm now addicted to the Bridge Construction where you make a bridge that doesn't clasps when trains go on it. Games like Bridge Construction Set for 20 bucks and Bridge Building for free but is not nearly as good. Photo here.

Google Chrome
Google's new browser, Chrome, is out (but only for Windows). It was announced with a comic book that I enjoyed, but a lot of other people apparently did not. It does get a bit technical in places.
