If you want to listen to some music, I recommend last.fm, which is the station I often listen to at home. My own last.fm station is here. Johwanna's station is here. Like last.fm, Pandora.com lets you find and play music that is like other music you already like.
There are many other sites now that allow you to legally download free music, such as Magnatune, the Best Media in Life is Free blog, and OpSound.
